High Ho Gems Newsletter July - August 2026

It's the middle of summer 2026 and what a strange and wild world we are currently living in. We want express our love and gratitude to each and every one of you. Your support and love for High Ho Gems is so appreciated and we are eternally grateful!

We've had a wild last 9 months or so, with our new larger location, Tucson in February, a Brazil shipment in May, our attempted market in June, the Bluegrass Festival in July and we aren't even close to being finished.

This newsletter is to provide information on all the wonderful events and offerings from High Ho Gems. New classes, a new website, new live feeds, a market update, a rock & Gem club and so much coming very soon.

These newletters and emails will be our main source of contact going forward. Social media has it's place but we are working diligently to do less social media and more traditional marketing. We want to provide our information directly to you and not be reliant on somebody elses rules. No more social media algorythyms; we are working very hard to make all of this happen for you. FOOD VIBRATION class - July 29th at 6pm to 7pm.

As someone who struggled with nutrition her entire life, Lola set out on a journey to change her story on health and living. She aspired to bring others along on her journey, helping them write their own successes.

Losing 80 pounds and making better decisions, while seeing what was possible. She has raised her own vibration, giving herself and others the abiility for lifetime success through health, wellness, and nutrition.

This class will discuss how nutrition can be used to optimize our physical bodies but also our emotional, mental and spiritual health.

Class will be approximately 45 minutes to an hour, with sampling of foods discussed in the class.

July 29th, 2026 - 6pm - 7pm - $20 per student

Smokey & Friends 8/1/2026 at High Ho Gems

For the seventh summer in a row, their first show with High Ho Gems was 7 years ago on Jerry's Birthday 8/1/2020! We are thrilled to host this amazing band, they are a huge part of the High Ho Gems and Crystals family. Join us for a night filled with joy, laughter, and fantastic music that will have you dancing the night away.

Smokey and Friends brings together a talented lineup of musicians who will perform your favorites from the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, the Allman Brothers Band, and more. Experience the magic of live music while being surrounded by a vibrant community. This concert promises to be a festive gathering that celebrates good times and great tunes.

Date & Time: Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 6 PM to 9:30 PM. Tickets: $15 donation towards the band paid online. This gives us a better idea of attendance. Tickets will be available day of the show, cash only.

We are determining whether to have this at the new store in back, or a few other options we currently have. Check back for final location but this who show will go on. This is a family-friendly event and is rain or shine, so be sure to bring your canopy (with weights) and lawn chairs for a comfortable experience.

Don't forget to bring your favorite snacks. Please note that no large coolers or glass liquor bottles are not permitted. We want to keep the focus on enjoying incredible music and making memories.

El Cortez and Jamo's Live are in our plaza (El Corrtez has fed us before). Bathrooms are in the gem shop, the store will be open for your convenience with special surprises just for this show.

South Bend Indiana - Michiana Gem & Mineral Society’s 2026 - Rock, Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show

Have you ever been to a rock and gem show? This is where High Ho Gems vends every late August. So many great dealers offering everything from education, tumbled, lapidary, raw minerals, crystals, beads, jewelry and more.

They have a great kid section as well as blind auctions that goes throughout the weekend. Grab the kids and come check out this really cool mineral community just a 2 hour drive. their rock show run by the rock club which they have built over 57 years.

This years show is August 21-23, 2026

High Ho Gems Vendor Market

June was a rough month for weather in our area. We all felt it, crazy storms, tornados and unseasonably cool weather. We tried to have a vendor’s market; we even got all set up and here came 60 mile an hour winds and hail and that ended our market.

We love the markets and so instead of hiding from the weather we are going around it. We are currently looking for a space where we can hold events indoors, throughout the year and monthly. This is a rental space away from the store where we can hold vendor markets. If you know of such a place, that's a good fit for us; please reach out. We would like to keep this in the Mokena or Frankfort communities if possible.

We have so many ideas about what and how to create this market, but we want it done correctly and we want a permanent space; at least to begin with. Please bear with us during this process, These vendors work so hard and put so much incredible energy into their businesses. They deserve something incredible and permanent, so that is what we will create! The High Ho Gems Market will be back and stronger than ever.

A new completely redesigned High Ho Gems website will be live in about 3 weeks.

Even a company like High Ho Gems must keep up with the times or be left behind. We love and cherish everything that is High Ho Gems, we wouldn’t have life any other way. However, we still must keep the business with the changing times.

There have been many years of frustration trying to figure out how to do more online. Let me tell, you social media is not part of our plan! We needed something that provided direct contact instead of an fighting an algorithm.

The above screenshot is our new site, Our marketing emails and soon SMS texts will notify you of our events. We will no longer be hosting on social media; we will host everything on our website. We will similulcast to the socials. This means no algorithm issues, no social media toxicity and will allow us to share High Ho Gems with you in a whole new way.

We are so excited for this giant upgrade. Coming are live feeds of sound bathes, reiki sessions, crystal sales, subscriptions. R club meetings, market feeds for shopping, concerts and so much more. There is so many positive changes coming I can't even remember them all!

Don't forget our retail store is still open 7 days a week for your crystal and metaphysical needs. There are more upgrades coming to the retail location as well. All of these upgrades will give High Ho Gems, the retail location, our events, and online presence the ability to offer the best we can bring!

A Rock and Gem club in the South Suburbs!

When I was a child, I remember going to the rock and mineral club with my dad. For many years I’ve been talking about a rock and mineral club sponsored by High Ho Gems. Over the last 6 months I have seen a lot of interest, there has not been a club in the South Suburbs in many years.

A club for kids and adults alike, to create community around the enjoyment of nature, rocks, gems and minerals. To not only collect but to learn about where they come from, how they form and to share this passion for the hobby with others.

Those interested in: rock hounding, nature walks, quarry tours, digging in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, and Wisconsin or, possibly further.

We'd be looking for Geodes, Agates, Quartz, fossils and more

Rock trading, sharing, collecting, education and more

I’m looking for ideas to make this the best experience possible. Lets create an experience, a memory as I did with my father. This hobby teaches science (especially geology), respect for the earth, an understanding of something fragile. Let's get off of the electronics, off the internet and video games. Rockhounding brings your family into nature. Sharing an experience directly with Mother Earth.

We’d like a first meeting to be before the kids go back to school so look for more information coming soon. There is a family festival in Keocuck Iowa called Geodefest in September 2026 and could be the first outing. For those that are interested please contact us at the store.
